Theater Zuidplein

Theater Zuidplein is Rotterdam-Zuid's landmark cultural and events venue — a completely rebuilt 12,000 m² complex designed by architecture firm De Zwarte Hond and reopened in 2020. Located directly beside the Zuidplein transport hub (metro, bus, tram), one of the largest in the Netherlands, it is exceptionally well connected for large groups arriving from across the city and beyond. The building's distinctive aluminium-triangle facade creates a play of light that greets guests from the moment they step outside.

The venue accommodates events of up to 1,200 guests and offers a full range of spaces across multiple levels. The Grote Zaal is a state-of-the-art main auditorium with 585 fixed seats, a 23-metre-wide stage, full fly-tower and professional sound and lighting — ideal for award ceremonies, congresses, keynote presentations and themed gala dinners on stage. The Kleine Zaal (c. 165 seats, partly retractable tribune) is perfect for smaller conferences, product reveals and intimate performances. Zaal Z is a flexible flat-floor studio for 80–100 guests, suitable for workshops, interactive formats and break-out sessions. The striking central hall, a buzzing meeting place between the spaces, and multiple foyers and meeting rooms allow multi-stream day conferences with up to 1,200 delegates across the full building. Ample adjacent parking at Q-Park Zuidplein (1,300 spaces) is a practical advantage for larger groups arriving by car.
