Het Spaansche Hof

Het Spaansche Hof historic city palace exterior on Westeinde The Hague

Het Spaansche Hof is a magnificently restored Rijksmonument city palace dating back to 1469, located on the Westeinde in the very centre of The Hague. Following an extensive multi-year restoration completed in 2026 by developer RE:BORN and operated by people@places, this historic Huis van Assendelft has been transformed from a former office and meeting venue into a fully-fledged events location, opening a remarkable piece of Hague heritage back up to the city after years behind closed doors.

The venue offers ten elegantly styled rooms, or "stijlkamers", along with a generous courtyard garden, accommodating gatherings from intimate boardroom meetings to large-scale exclusive hire events. The grand Ballroom can host congresses, parties or dinners for up to 150 guests, while the venue can be hired exclusively in its entirety to welcome up to 300-400 guests across the full city palace — ideal for an international annual congress, a parliamentary reception or a black-tie gala dinner. The Vergader- en Trainingszalen (meeting and training rooms) accommodate up to 100 delegates in bright, high-ceilinged rooms full of natural daylight, while smaller boardrooms provide confidential space for 1 to 12 people. From April to October a stylish stretch tent extends the spacious courtyard garden into additional usable event space.

The venue's in-house kitchen serves daily fresh, seasonal dishes, and a dedicated hospitality coordinator manages room changes, technical setup, catering and timing throughout the day. Luxury overnight accommodation is available on the first floor for speakers and international guests, making Het Spaansche Hof particularly well suited to multi-day strategic conferences, board retreats and leadership programmes that benefit from keeping the entire group together on one historic site.
