Oaxaca Amsterdam is a Mexican restaurant and mezcaleria on Spuistraat in Amsterdam's city centre, opposite its sister restaurant Sagardi and a short walk from Dam Square.

The kitchen cooks the traditional cuisine of Oaxaca, the Mexican state chef Joan Bagur has spent years studying: nixtamalised corn dough ground on volcanic stone, pre-Hispanic moles and stews, charcoal-grilled fish, and guacamole prepared at the table in a molcajete. Many of the herbs, chillies and vegetables come from the restaurant group's own Mexican milpa gardens.

The mezcaleria is a room of its own, decorated in the spirit of a classic Mexican cantina and pouring one of the widest mezcal selections in the city, which makes it a natural space for a welcome drink before dinner.

For groups the main dining room downstairs seats 110 guests, the upstairs dining room seats 26, and a private dining room seats 13, so a programme can take the whole restaurant or a room within it. Many dishes can be prepared vegetarian, and dietary requirements are accommodated when confirmed in advance.

Shared plates, a table-side guacamole ritual and a serious drinks list make Oaxaca Amsterdam a lively choice for incentive groups and client dinners looking for something beyond classic European dining.
