Kasap Utrecht is a Turkish halal steakhouse and charcoal-grill restaurant on the Proostwetering, west of the city centre. It is the original of the three Kasap restaurants: guests choose their own cut from a butcher's display counter and it is grilled to order.

The name kasap is Turkish for butcher, and the concept comes straight from the family's trade: more than 30 years in butchery before the first restaurant opened. Meat is weighed openly at the counter and grilled over charcoal to order, from rare to well done.

The Utrecht restaurant sits in a quieter area away from the centre, which gives it a spacious, relaxed dining room and easy access by car — practical for groups arriving together by coach.

Group dining

  • Cuisine: Turkish halal steakhouse and charcoal grill
  • Groups: parties over 12 guests and corporate bookings are arranged through the restaurant manager
  • Halal: all meat is 100% halal
