Kasap Amsterdam is a Turkish halal steakhouse and charcoal-grill restaurant on Osdorpplein in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Guests pick their own cut from a butcher's display counter and watch it go on the grill, which makes it an informal, interactive option for group dinners.
The name kasap is Turkish for butcher, and the concept comes straight from the family's trade: more than 30 years in butchery before the first restaurant opened. Meat is weighed openly at the counter and grilled over charcoal to order, from rare to well done.
