Café & Restaurant Schlemmer

Café Restaurant Schlemmer is an institution in The Hague that has welcomed politicians, artists, actors and food lovers from all over the world since 1984. Located in a beautiful town house on the Lange Houtstraat – a stone's throw from the Koninklijke Schouwburg and the Binnenhof – Schlemmer breathes the atmosphere of a classic Parisian café-animé where ideas and culture come together.

The building has a cosy café and restaurant on the ground floor with access to the hidden city garden, as well as four separately hireable rooms on the first and second floors, each with its own atmosphere and capacity. The garden – an oasis of calm with a small fountain in the middle of central The Hague – is open from April to October and offers space for lunches, drinks and intimate dinners in the open air. Schlemmer works closely with the Koninklijke Schouwburg and the Haags Historisch Museum and serves a daily theatre menu for guests who wish to dine before a performance. The kitchen changes the menu several times a year and works with fresh, seasonal, top-quality produce.
