How Holland DMC Partners Handles Group Transportation in the Netherlands
Reliable, well-timed group transportation is one of the most important — and most frequently underestimated — elements of a successful corporate event or incentive programme. Get it right and it's invisible. Get it wrong and it defines the entire experience. Holland DMC Partners has managed group transport logistics across the Netherlands for over 25 years. Here's how we approach it.
Airport Transfers
We manage group arrivals and departures at Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport. This includes meet-and-greet services at the arrivals hall, flight monitoring for delays, and coordinated transfers to hotels and venues by private coach, minibus or luxury car depending on group size and VIP requirements.
Meet & greet service can be approached in several ways:
Guests are greeted at the arrival door with signage with either client logo or guest names. This is the 'classic meet & greet'. The good thing about option is you 'catch' the guest immediately at the door they exit from. The downside is there are four arrival doors. We 'guestimate' where the guest exits, but it is no guarantee that door will be used by the guest. The cover all doors, you need 4 greeters, which means more cost.
Guests are greeted at meeting point with signage with either client logo or guest names. The good thing is there is only one meetingpoint at Schiphol Airport. The downside is they did a great job at the airport to make sure you do not find the meeting point. It is small, no large signage there and signage pointing to the meeting point is scarce. It happens the guests cannot find the meetingpoint without clear instructions
Guests are greeted at a specific desk or lounge of a partner we have a cooperation with. The guest will have to follow instructions to reach this lounge or desk. The downside is the following instructions, the upside is you less to no host service at all. When budget are put to the test, this option is a solution.
Whatever option is preferred, it is always very usefull to have the guest mobile number. If available (and allowed), we will send every guest individually a message welcoming them to The Netherlands and giving instructions where they can find their host or driver.
Please note that for arrival on train stations, we need a greeter on the platform, as drivers have to stay at their vehicles, unless the guest is able and willing to walk by him/herself to the driver.
Private Coach and Minibus Transfers
For group movements between hotels, venues and experience locations across the Netherlands, Holland DMC Partners arranges private coach and minibus hire through our network of vetted, professional transport providers. All vehicles are well-maintained, drivers are experienced with corporate groups, and schedules are planned to allow (comfortable) margins for every transfer.
Cities like Amsterdam have a lot of complicated rules and regulations concerning minibusses and coaches. Holland DMC Partners is an expert concerning transfers in the tight city centers of Amsterdam and The Netherlands. We know what is allowed and what is not allowed. We also know how to bend the rules in our favour by using knowledgeable local driver and suppliers. It is why our founder Wouter Klaase is called Mister DMC Amsterdam by our suppliers.
Private Sedan and Minivan Transfers
At Holland DMC Partners we only use executive class suppliers and with their trained drivers. It is not because it has to be more expensive, but it is the only way to consistently and reliably deliver service that our clients appreciate. Of course these vehicles and their drivers are still withinn compliance rules and regulations.
Water Transport in Amsterdam and Rotterdam
The Netherlands' extensive waterway network provides unique transport opportunities. In Amsterdam, private canal boats can be used for group transfers between venues as well as for leisure cruises. Please be mindfull that a canal cruise always takes at least an hour and usually more. It is not a fast way of transportation, due to the speedlimit of 6 km/h on the canals of Amsterdam.
In Rotterdam, water taxis on the Maas river offer a fast and memorable way to move between city-centre locations. The distinct difference with Amsterdam boats is the speed that is allowed. On the river Maas, they can go at high speed testing your 'sea legs' at the same time!

Public Transport Coordination
For some groups and programs, coordinated use of the Netherlands' excellent public transport network — trains, trams and metro — is the most practical and authentic option. Holland DMC Partners provides pre-loaded OV-chipkaart transport cards, route briefings and staff accompaniment where required.
Real-Time On-Site Coordination
On event days, Holland DMC Partners' on-site team manages all transport logistics in real time — communicating with drivers, monitoring schedules, adjusting for delays and ensuring every delegate is where they need to be, when they need to be there.
