Amsterdam Nieuw-West

WestCord Fashion Hotel Amsterdam is a design-led four-star hotel in the Nieuw-West district of Amsterdam, set directly opposite the World Fashion Centre and just inside the A10 ring road. Its 258 guest rooms rise across ten floors, and a fashion theme runs through the whole property, from the lobby to the tenth-floor SKYY Bar with its panoramic views over the city. For groups it offers a rare combination in Amsterdam: generous, contemporary bedrooms, a full suite of event spaces and its own wellness centre, all under one roof and a short ride from both Schiphol Airport and the RAI convention centre.

The bedrooms are spacious and unmistakably contemporary. The Fashion Superior Room is a roomy design room with a walk-in shower or bath, a work desk, air conditioning and free wifi; the Fashion Garden View Room looks onto the hotel's green courtyard; and the Fashion Suite is an extra-large suite with its own rooftop terrace, a separate luxury bath and a rain shower. Family rooms are available for groups travelling with children, and every category is finished in the clean, modern style that gives the hotel its name.

Dining and relaxation are built into the stay. Brasserie Mme Coco serves a Franco-Dutch menu with a sunny terrace, Fashion's Lobby Bar anchors the ground floor, and the SKYY Bar on the tenth floor is one of the highest bars in the city, a natural place to close an event. Two floors down, the WellCome Wellness centre adds a sauna, steam bath, indoor pool and a complimentary fitness room, with facial treatments and massages on request.

The location suits an incentive or meeting programme that wants calm and space without losing the city. Vondelpark and the designer boutiques of the P.C. Hooftstraat are within easy reach, Amsterdam Lelylaan station is a short walk away for a quick tram or train into the centre, and Schiphol and the RAI are each about ten minutes by car. A parking garage, bike rental and air conditioning throughout round out the practical side.

For meetings and events, WestCord Fashion Hotel Amsterdam offers one of the most flexible venue mixes on the west side of the city. The centrepiece is the Fashion Lounge, a 256 square-metre event space with its own entrance, a welcome bar, high ceilings, daylight and adjustable mood lighting that can be set to any colour. It seats up to 200 in theatre style, 80 cabaret, 60 classroom, 34 in a hollow square and 30 in a U-shape, and it divides into as many as seven smaller rooms, so a single congress and a cluster of breakout sessions can run side by side.

Beyond the Fashion Lounge the hotel fields a full set of function rooms. The tenth-floor SKYY Bar hosts receptions and standing events for up to 125 guests against a skyline backdrop; Brasserie Mme Coco seats large groups for dinners and plenary sessions; and the PC Hooftstraat room and the combinable Vogue, Elle and Avantgarde and Cosmopolitan, Grazia and Bazaar rooms handle boardroom meetings and workshops of around 30 to 50. Across the spaces the hotel suits congresses, training days, presentations, product launches and fashion shows, and it is an official wedding venue.

Delegates stay on site in the hotel's 258 design rooms, dine in the brasserie and unwind in the WellCome Wellness centre, which makes multi-day residential programmes straightforward. Parking, bike rental, free wifi and air conditioning are available throughout, and the location just inside the A10 ring puts Schiphol Airport and the RAI roughly ten minutes away by car. Meeting-space rates, day-delegate packages and per-setup capacities are quoted per proposal.
