Van der Valk Hotel Veenendaal stands on the Bastion between the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Gelderse Vallei, at the point where the province of Utrecht meets Gelderland and within easy reach of the A12.

The hotel counts 152 rooms and suites, and its upper categories are among the most distinctive in the Van der Valk portfolio: the named Moorland and Desert suites are designed as complete interiors, with hand-painted murals, their own kitchenette and seating areas rather than simply a larger bedroom. There is a wellness centre, a restaurant and a bar.

The setting suits a programme that wants the wooded centre of the country rather than a city, with the heathland and forest of the Heuvelrug close at hand, and Utrecht and Arnhem both a straightforward drive.
