Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol – restaurant dessert

Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol is a large four-star conference hotel in Hoofddorp, set directly beside the A4 motorway on the southern approach to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and linked to the terminal by the hotel's own complimentary shuttle service.

The hotel counts 714 rooms and suites, which makes it one of the largest single blocks of accommodation in the Amsterdam region and a practical base for congresses, incentive groups and airline crews alike. Rooms are generously proportioned, with the deluxe category measuring around thirty square metres, and all come with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a flatscreen television and tea and coffee facilities.

Guests have the run of an indoor swimming pool, a wellness centre and a fully equipped gym, while the restaurant and bar handle everything from early breakfasts before a first flight to relaxed group dinners.

For an international group arriving at Schiphol, the appeal is straightforward: the shuttle turns the airport transfer into a few minutes rather than an excursion, and central Amsterdam remains within easy reach by road or rail.

Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol – twin room with feature artwork

Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol runs one of the largest meeting operations in the Schiphol area, with twenty-five recently renovated multifunctional halls and boardrooms handling everything from a two-person briefing to a plenary of a thousand.

The flagship New York hall covers nine hundred square metres and seats up to eight hundred and fifty delegates in plenary, and it divides into three separate halls with its own adjoining lobby. Brussel adds three hundred and six square metres for two hundred and twenty guests and can be combined up to four hundred and sixty-seven square metres, while Shanghai seats sixteen around its own bar with a spectacular runway view and the Athene boardroom takes twenty. The rooms are flexible in layout, which makes the hotel well suited to congresses that need a main plenary plus a ring of parallel sessions on the same floor.

Because the 714 bedrooms sit directly above the conference floors, a residential congress or multi-day incentive can be housed entirely on site, with delegates moving between plenary, break-out, catering and their rooms without leaving the building.

The combination of motorway access, the complimentary airport shuttle and ample on-site parking makes this a straightforward choice for international delegations flying into Amsterdam, and for events that need to gather participants from across the Netherlands in one easily reached place.
