Van der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk is a modern, sustainably built hotel a short distance south-east of Rotterdam, close enough to the city for a full urban programme while sitting in its own quieter setting beside the motorway network of the Drechtsteden.

The bedrooms are among the better-photographed in the Van der Valk portfolio and run from comfort categories through Executive rooms to suites with a separate lounge and a feature mural, several with baths. There is a restaurant, a lounge, and wellness arrangements available through a nearby thermal spa.

Rotterdam's centre, the Kinderdijk windmills and the Drechtsteden waterfront are all within a short transfer, which makes this a practical base for a programme that wants to combine the modern city with the classic Dutch river landscape.

Van der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk carries a full floor of flexible meeting rooms, named for the world's rivers, among them Hudson, Amazone and Zambezi, and set up for everything from a board session to a plenary presentation.

The rooms take classroom, U-shape, school and theatre layouts, and the photography shows each configuration, which is unusually helpful when matching a room to a programme. The building is recent and sustainably built, so the audio-visual fit-out and the natural light are good throughout.

Bedrooms on site mean a residential conference or a multi-day incentive stays in one place, and the restaurant handles group dining including full banquet setups.

The position works for events that need Rotterdam without city-centre logistics, with easy motorway access from across the southern Randstad. Room counts and per-setup capacities are being confirmed with the hotel and have deliberately been left out rather than estimated.
