Van der Valk Hotel Dordrecht – restaurant seating

Van der Valk Hotel Dordrecht stands on the Laan van Europa in the oldest city of Holland, a compact and often overlooked place of medieval harbours, merchant houses and the Grote Kerk, about twenty minutes south of Rotterdam.

The hotel carries the full four-star kit, with a wellness centre and swimming pool, a modern restaurant and, unusually, a skybar looking out over the city and the rivers. Room categories run from comfort through superior to suites with a separate lounge, and there is a bridal suite among them.

For an accompanying programme the setting is genuinely good: Dordrecht's historic centre is walkable, the Biesbosch national park and the Kinderdijk windmills are both close, and Rotterdam is an easy transfer for a city day.

Van der Valk Hotel Dordrecht – twin room

Van der Valk Hotel Dordrecht runs twelve multifunctional rooms, which makes it a substantial conference address for the Drechtsteden and a workable alternative to Rotterdam for organisers who want capacity without city-centre cost.

The rooms are named for the region and its history, among them the Eiland van Dordrecht rooms and the Biesbosch rooms, with boardrooms including the Eerste Vrije Statenvergadering, a nod to the assembly of 1572 that met in this city. Layouts cover classroom and theatre for a plenary as well as board-level sessions.

The skybar gives an event something most conference hotels cannot offer for a reception or a closing drink, and the wellness centre and pool cover the downtime on a residential programme.

Per-room capacities and per-setup figures are being confirmed with the hotel and have deliberately been left out rather than estimated.
