Van der Valk Hotel Akersloot stands beside the Alkmaardermeer in North Holland, between Alkmaar and the dunes, with the North Sea beaches and the Noord-Hollands Duinreservaat within easy reach.
The hotel is large for its setting, with 210 rooms and suites, an indoor swimming pool, a gym and a modern restaurant. Its room stock is unusually varied: alongside comfort and family rooms with bunk beds there is a run of themed and wellness suites fitted with round baths, jacuzzis and private saunas, which gives an incentive programme something to reward people with.
Alkmaar and its cheese market are a few minutes away, the bulb fields lie to the south in spring, and Amsterdam is comfortably reachable for a day in the city.
Van der Valk Hotel Akersloot runs a meeting operation built around a congress hall that seats a substantial plenary audience in theatre style, supported by boardrooms and break-out space on the upper floor.
With 210 bedrooms on site, the hotel can hold a residential conference or a multi-day incentive without splitting the group across properties, and its restaurant handles group dining at scale.
The lakeside location gives an event programme options a city hotel cannot match, from watersports on the Alkmaardermeer to cycling through the dunes, and the hotel's themed and wellness suites make it a practical choice where part of the group needs an upgrade.
Per-room capacities and the exact number of meeting rooms are being confirmed with the hotel and have deliberately been left out rather than estimated.
