Stadspaleis Hotel OldRuitenborgh – garden terrace with the city palace behind

Stadspaleis Hotel OldRuitenborgh is a 4-star boutique hotel set in a national-monument city palace in Vollenhove, a historic former Zuiderzee town in the Kop van Overijssel.

The building traces its history to the late 15th century, when it was raised as a fortified manor, and it is framed by the English landscape gardens laid out by its former noble owners, with the adjoining Stadspark Old Ruitenborgh right beside it.

The hotel offers fourteen individually styled rooms and suites, each named after a notable spot in Vollenhove and ranging from cosy double rooms to spacious suites, combining the character of a listed monument with the comforts expected of a four-star hotel.

Its restaurant serves seasonal dishes built around honest regional produce, set within historic halls that lend every dinner a distinctive sense of occasion.

Guests also enjoy easy access to the surrounding Weerribben-Wieden national park, a nearby wellness centre and a nine-hole golf course, with bicycles and e-bikes available at the hotel.

Located approximately 112 kilometres from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, with a taxi and Schiphol shuttle arranged through the hotel and complimentary on-site parking, OldRuitenborgh is a characterful choice for corporate groups, incentives and residential meetings seeking a setting away from the city.

Stadspaleis Hotel OldRuitenborgh – double guest room with period wallpaper

Stadspaleis Hotel OldRuitenborgh offers meeting and event spaces within a five-century-old national monument in Vollenhove, an inspiring alternative to a conventional conference hotel.

Its historic rooms accommodate a range of formats, from an intimate boardroom for around eight to a theatre-style setup for approximately one hundred guests, all supported by modern audiovisual technology within the period setting.

For larger occasions the city palace and its grounds host receptions, celebrations and weddings for up to two hundred guests, and the kitchen can arrange everything from coffee breaks and working lunches to seated dinners.

This makes OldRuitenborgh well suited to strategy days, board meetings, product launches, company anniversaries and networking events for groups seeking a distinctive residential venue in the north of the country.
