The Amsterdam Light Festival is an annual outdoor light art exhibition held along Amsterdam's historic canal ring each winter. Running from late November through mid-January, the festival transforms the city's waterways into an open-air gallery with more than twenty illuminated artworks created by international artists.
A private canal cruise is the most immersive way for groups to experience the festival. Gliding through the candlelit canals aboard a fully electric, covered boat, guests enjoy a 75-minute guided tour past glowing installations on the water, along the quays and suspended from bridges. An English-speaking guide provides insight into each artwork and the artists behind it, while optional drink packages and snacks add a convivial touch.
Boats seat up to 30 guests and depart from central Amsterdam, making the cruise easy to fit into an evening incentive programme or a winter team event. The combination of world-class light art, the intimate setting of the canal boat and the festive Amsterdam atmosphere makes the Amsterdam Light Festival a standout winter activity for corporate groups.
